Beneath the pillars is a long low room which used to serve as a chapel for the Community when I was a student almost 40 years ago. Now, a larger chapel has been erected in another part of the monastery and this room is a museum for the archeological exhibits discovered during the excavations. Another line of pillars supports the portico on which the museum stands and this portico gives entrance to the Basilica.
